Big Brother 10 entrants must sleep on floor

Big Brother 10 contestants hoping for a luxurious start to their stay on the Channel 4 reality show will be in for a shock tonight when they are told they will have to sleep on the floor.

In what will perhaps be the toughest start to any series of the reality show, the 10th run will kick off with the eight male and eight female contestants being told they are not official housemates until they have earned the title by completing a series of tasks over the next three days.

Until that happens, they will not be given the personal belongings in their suitcases and will only have access to the Big Brother compound’s living room – which has no beds or creature comforts – a toilet and the garden. They will only be able to wash using an outside bath, which can only be filled with cold water using a hole-ridden bucket.

“Those entering the house could potentially spend up to 13 weeks in the Big Brother house but in true Big-Brother style they won’t be allowed to get too comfortable,” a Channel 4 spokeswoman said.
